Thomas Byrne, owner of Byrne & Company Limited, is one of renewable energy’s most experienced project development and management consultants . He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from St. Cloud State University. His experience dates back to 1979 when he began his career as an accountant, later becoming a leading project development consultant to the biofuels industry.
Since forming Byrne & Company Limited, Mr. Byrne has worked on many successful projects for his clients, offering a broad array of business consultation services. He also has spoken at conferences across the United States as well as in Costa Rica, Poland, China and Panama on the securing of financing within the biofuels industry and the future of the biofuels industry.
His leadership and commitment to the algal industry began with his involvement in XL Renewables, Inc. serving as CFO since 2007. He is a board member of Phyco Biosciences, Inc., and Algaedyne Corporation also serving as Algaedyne's President. In November 2007, Byrne & Company, Ltd. co-hosted the inaugeral Algae Biomass Summit in San Francisco, California and the 2008 Summit held in Seattle, Washington. The Summits were the foundation for the establishment of the Algal Biomass Organization in 2008. My Byrne was elected to the ABO's Board of Directors and serves as Board Secretary/Treasurer.
